5urprise hosted a press conference

5urprise is a rookie male group. Yet, it is totally different from the other K-Pop boy groups.

The group has launched itself as an actor’s party.

On August 27, 5urprise hosted a press conference for the dramatoon After School Bokbulbok with director Jung Jung Hwa and actress Kim So Eun.

Member Yoo Il stated, “You can define us as a group of newbie actors. Just as many idols start off with dance and song and ends up acting, we are planning an opposite way and initiate with acting to later head for dance and song.”

5urprise is the initial group of actors to be launched by Fantagio, which is consisted of prominent actors such as Ha Jung Woo, Ju Jin Mo and Yeom Jeong Ah. Its members were chosen through Fantagio′s ′Actor′s League′, a program it hosts to attract talents in acting.

The members have been training for about two years, and at last will be debuting with After School Bokbulbok.

Yoo Il commented regarding the group′s future, “As musicians and their albums, we are currently consideringAfter School Bokbulbok to be our initial project. We are currently preparing for our second and third projects also. We aim to release an album, and we will not be hesitant to receive individual offers either.”

After School Bokbulbok is about five members of a school club, played by each one of 5urprise, and a beautiful outcast named Kim So Eun, characterized by the actress of same name. So Eun will happen to find herself becoming the leader of the school club, and work on building a loyal friendship and even love relationship with the other five male members.

5urprise member Seo Kang Joon will make appearance as the original leader of the group with the same name, while Lee Tae Hwan will be a clever member Han Jae Hee. The rest of the members will take up roles with the same name as their real names, with Yoo Il playing the most handsome member, Gong Myung the most emotional and Kang Tae Oh the fittest.

The dramatoon is made up of 12 15-minute episodes, and can be viewed through smartphones and tablet PCs. Its first episode is to air on September 2 through Nate Hoppin, T Store and Btv.

'Actor-group' 5urprise reveal profile information on members

The profile information for all 5 members from actor-group 5urprise has been released.

As mentioned before, the five members are Seo Kang Joon, Lee Tae Hwan, Yoo Il, Gong Myung, and Kang Tae Oh. 

Yoo Il is the oldest of the group as a 90'er, he's followed by the 93'er Seo Kang Joon. Kang Tae Oh and Gong Myung are both 94'ers, and Lee Tae Hwan is the maknae as a 95'er. The boys, as aspiring actors, mostly love watching movies and dramas. They're also into exercising and working out.

One thing to note is that 5urprise is a very tall group! The shortest member is Kang Tae Oh at 178 cm (5'10"), and the tallest member Lee Tae Hwan is at 188 cm (6' 2").

New 'Actor group' 5urprise to make a debut soon

In the barrage of a mixture of various idol groups, there is now a brand-new concept to add to the growing mix.

5urprise is a 5-member group made up of not 5 singers, but 5 actors. The group is made up of members Seo Kang Joon, Lee Tae Hwan, Yoo Il, Gong Myung, and Kang Tae Oh. The members are in their early 20s and were chosen through the 'Actor's League' program, which auditions actor-hopefuls.

However, just because they're rookie actors doesn't mean they can't sing! The boys were also trained for 2 years in singing and dancing on top of their acting. Seo Kang Joon is the leader of the group.

  Their label Fantagio said, "5urprise is a rookie actor group that's different from the basic idol group. Each of the members went through the highly competitive 'Actor's League' audition, and then training. They are equipped with the basics of being an actor with the looks to match, and they are also solid in their singing and dancing. Unlike the singer idols, they'll be mainly acting, and then branch out into music, CFs, and variety shows."

Hello Venus showed support for the boys by tweeting, "5urprise is finally out~!! We're looking forward to sur~prising news!! Fighting!!".

New 'Actor group' 5urprise debut with 'Hey U Come On' OST

Acting idols 5urprise have made their singing debut with an OST for upcoming drama 'After School Randomness'.

The debut single is "Hey You Come On" a fun track that also serves the dual purpose of proving that the actor-hopefuls can also sing.

5urprise is a 5-member group made up of not 5 singers, but 5 actors. The group is made up of members Seo Kang Joon, Lee Tae Hwan, Yoo Il, Gong Myung, and Kang Tae Oh. The members are in their early 20s and were chosen through the 'Actor's League' program, which auditions actor-hopefuls.

5urprise to take their first step in China with a showcase in Beijing

Within only one month since their debut, 5urprise will introduce themselves in China with their showcase in Beijing!

The actor-idols will hold their showcase on the 28th where they will perform their debut song "Hey U Come On" from the 'After School Randomness' drama OST. They will also showcase their acting skills through a 30-minute highlight reel of the drama, as well as get closer with fans by singing a cover of Guang Liang's "Fairy Tale" ("Tong Hua").

Their agency rep stated, "Although 5urprise are a rookie actor group, they have solid acting skills and fresh visuals. They can also sing and dance, making them evenly balanced as actors and idols. They will reach out to a bigger audience to receive recognition alongside Hallyu stars and international artists."

Rookie group 5urprise is ready to take on fall in a dashing pictorial for 'Harper's Bazaar'

5urprise is continuing to land pictorials thanks to their good looks and interesting actor-idols concept, this time grabbing a spread in fashion magazine 'Harper's Bazaar'.

This group, composed of rookie actors who can also sing, took on the challenge of showing readers how to transition from summer to fall.

They not only brought their visuals to the shoot, but their charming personalities as well for the interview that accompanied the pictorial, touching on a range of topics. One of the subjects they discussed was their drama-toon 'After School Randomness', mentioning, "Although you might think the story is just about a group of flower boys when you first hear about it, it's an entertaining drama that has an element of surprise."
